Back in the 60s and 70s you were dealing with tape machines 8 tracks and eventually full mix boards but man there was nothing like pro tools, ableton, logic, or any other current DAW. The info isn't that hard to find if you know the right people I guess? Not saying I do, though. It's super easy to just email an entire project with every track, instrument, note, etc. ![]() You can put out the stems now because everything is digital. You might get lucky and find a mediocre DIY version on the internet, that you can clean up but its pretty hard to find good quality acapellas of specific songs. If you can't find the acapellas officially released, or can't work with the label then I wouldn't get your hopes up. Notable artists with popularity and their own label usually work with other labels or pay licensing rights and get access to the masters, where they have access to the source material.
